HEY, I’M MEG :)

LIL BIT OF BACKGROUND:

For 27 years the Midwest shaped and raised me, but since then I’ve spent about a year in the Deep South until landing firmly here in Denver. I’m very fortunate to have gotten to experience life from different perspectives and you’ll find these life experiences will pop up in my art from time to time.

MY ARTIST “STATEMENT”:

My work is a celebration of the everyday, the nostalgic, and the overlooked. I draw inspiration from popular culture, vintage aesthetics, and the objects that surround us; finding beauty in the mundane and the humor in the familiar. Through vibrant color palettes and painstaking precise detail (shoutout midday yoga practicing), I aim to elevate ordinary moments into something worth pausing for.

I often explore themes of nostalgia and memory, revisiting items and symbols from the past—such as retro toys, classic cars, and iconic brands—reinterpreting them in a way that bridges the gap between person history and shared cultural experiences. My work seeks to evoke a sense of comfort, while also inviting viewers to reflect on the fleeting nature of time and the objects we attach meaning to.

By using a combination of realism and a slightly surreal touch, I strive to capture the joy, humor, and unexpected beauty in the things we often take for granted. Each piece is a snapshot of a larger story, encouraging you to fill in the blanks with your own experiences and memories.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope you enjoy :)
